Terra della Luna began in 2006 at Ortonovo, near La Spezia. Its grapes grow in the Colli di Luni on the Pezzo Grande site, known since the nineteenth century for the Fabbricotti family’s Bianc Bon wine.
Where the Tuscan and Ligurian hills meet, grey clay about a metre below the surface contributes to a distinctive setting for aromatic, balanced wines.
The estate was built with environmentally considerate materials and uses photovoltaic power as part of an ambition to reduce carbon emissions to zero. Its farming commitments include avoiding pesticides, chemical fertilisers and systemic herbicides, while keeping winemaking aids and selected yeasts to a minimum.
