Tenuta del Cannavale is a story of love for Ischia, its landscape and traditions. Hidden among ferns and trees between mountain and sea, and accessible only on foot, the estate looks towards Naples, Vesuvius and distant Capri. Here, the family says, dreams should never be trampled on.
The Greek idea of the vineyard-garden, or kepos, shapes the place: orchard, vegetables and vines form one landscape, integrated with surrounding vegetation and rooted in local history.
Siblings Anna and Gennaro Manna brought Cannavale back after thirty years of neglect, drawing on their different experiences and a shared set of values. The old farmer’s house, washhouse, pigsty and rabbit pit have regained their place in the farm’s story.
Cherry, apricot and other fruit trees flourish again. Piennolo tomatoes grow close to basil, while vegetables share the land with the vineyard. It is a renewed expression of the island’s farming life and memories.
