This family farm began in 2006 to grow, process and sell quality produce through natural methods suited to its region, while promoting Cilento’s food heritage and landscape, including through tourism.
The original ambition was to recover endangered vines around Pisciotta and southern Cilento, renew appreciation of local wine and encourage other growers to work with native varieties and restrained winemaking, rather than construct wines in the cellar.
The estate’s account describes region-supported DNA analysis of ten vines, identifying eight previously unrecorded genotypes. Names associated with its recovery work include Rodiana Nera, Arenaccia, Vesparedda, Aglianicone del Corvo, Rubinella, Bianca a Cuore, Armonera, Rodiana Bianca and Neralasca. The profile identifies Armonera and Uva Bianca a Cuore among Campania’s rare traditional products.
Lucia Trama took over in 2017 after her father’s premature death. Although her own career had followed a different path, his vision inspired her. Whatever its economic challenges, she sees clear social and environmental value in continuing it.
The farm is certified organic, despite Lucia’s reservations about the certification system. Vineyard treatments are limited and protective. Wines ferment spontaneously with moderate skin contact, without fining or filtration. Sulphur dioxide at racking and bottling is the only addition.
Silvio Trama shares the vision of Evoluzione Naturale. Come and discover their stories and wines.
