Santei is a small family winery in the hills of Slovenia’s Vipava Valley. It was founded in 2008 by Sandra and Matej, a biologist and a mathematician united by their love of food and wine. Both wanted to leave behind the corporate environment in which they worked.
Their vision combines the slopes of Vipava with respect for nature. They tend almost 30,000 vines, carrying out most vineyard work, including harvest, by hand. All vineyards follow organic and biodynamic practices.
Santei wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes, with natural fermentation and nothing added apart from a minimal amount of sulphur dioxide. The wines have been certified organic since 2018 and Demeter biodynamic since 2021.
