“Wine shapes my life,” says Turi Marino. His own farming project began in 2017, built on study, dedication and love for vines, old traditions and the land’s natural balance. It continues five generations of winegrowing rooted in Pachino.
‘Wine is made in the vineyard’ is the lesson handed down by his grandparents. His bush-trained vines grow in Contrada Buonivini, near the Vendicari wetlands. Biodiversity matters, and lunar phases help guide the timing of work, still carried out by hand.
A hoe and pruning shears are his most-used tools. Mature organic manure and green manure are the only forms of fertilisation.
