PAP Wines is a small family winery founded in 2013 by Aron Molnár, with Hungarian and British connections, and Karina Vissonova from Latvia. Around 5.5 hectares lie on the volcanic slopes of Szent György-hegy, Mount Saint George, near Hungary’s Lake Balaton.
Organic and biodynamic principles have guided the project from the outset. Grapes are hand-picked and ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. Wines are neither fined nor filtered and have no added sulphites, an approach described as ‘0/0’.
Whites, amber wines and reds express volcanic soils and local microclimate. Amphorae, qvevri and barriques are used, with annual production reported at approximately 10,000 bottles.
