Nic Tartaglia Wine began making and selling estate-grown wine in 2015 at Alanno, near Pescara, Abruzzo, at 307 metres. The land and vineyards have been passed through five generations.
The historical profile describes twelve hectares trained to the local tendone pergola and Guyot. Single-variety wines include Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo and Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo, alongside a wood-matured range of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Montepulciano.
That account also records the first Pecorino crop in 2017, a wood-matured Montepulciano release planned for autumn 2018 and newly planted Riesling Italico intended for later production. These are milestones in the original profile, rather than a current catalogue.
Integrated pest management works alongside family practices such as observing lunar cycles. Nic concentrates effort in the vineyard, following his father’s lesson that wine begins there. Quality and contemporary packaging remain connected with tradition, and the family personally follows every stage from growing to sales.
