At the foot of Monte Lozzo, on the south-western side of the Euganean Hills, Nevio Scala farms a geologically varied landscape. Trachyte and red limestone around Monte Lozzo meet volcanic and calcareous deposits at Valbona and alluvial sands at Saline, associated with former river courses.

Since 2008, the farm has worked to restore biodiversity by planting woodland, creating wildlife corridors and buffer strips, and establishing a wetland. Diversification has replaced monoculture, providing habitats for wildlife of many sizes.

The vineyards have been farmed organically since replanting began in 2013. Alongside Garganega, Malvasia Istriana, white and yellow Muscat, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the estate grows recovered local varieties including Corbinona, Recantina, Pattaresca and Turchetta.

The cellar occupies the former stables of Corte degli Albrizzi, part of an agricultural complex more than two centuries old. Concrete tanks now stand where feeding troughs once were, alongside stainless steel and selected oak and acacia casks.

The former hayloft has become a drying room for grapes. Its elevated position and north–south orientation provide natural ventilation, allowing slow drying without forced air.

Nevio Scala shares the values of Evoluzione Naturale, bringing together agricultural history, biodiversity and expressive winemaking.
