“My parents’ dedication to their work, together with my love of our land, inspired me to continue the family business.” This is how Elisabetta Musto Carmelitano introduces the estate.
The family has grown vines for more than three generations. Elisabetta and her brother Luigi Carmelitano took over in 2005, carrying forward the passion inherited from their parents and grandparents. A new cellar, equipment and collaboration with oenologist Fortunato Sebastiano followed in 2006, combining tradition with technology.
The farm covers thirteen hectares: nine of arable land and four of vineyards. Its organically grown Aglianico del Vulture grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand.
Cellar work seeks to preserve the fruit’s aromas and flavours. There are no selected yeasts, fining treatments or stabilisation procedures. Fermentation begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and without added sulphur dioxide. Artisanal production is guided by respect for the environment and the people who drink the wines.
