Mas Gomà lies at Les Cabanyes in the heart of Spain’s Penedès, where the Vendrell family has grown vines for five generations. The estate’s story includes grandfather Joan and uncle Pere, who led it before Eloi Vendrell took over. After years of organic cultivation, Eloi adopted biodynamic principles, deepening the commitment to the environment and tradition.
Horn manure, horn silica and nettle preparations, together with green manure, are used to encourage resilient vines and balanced soils. The estate credits these practices with restoring soil vitality and enriching biodiversity between the rows, supporting healthy grapes.
In the cellar, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and no added sulphites preserve grape and vintage character. Intervention is kept to a minimum so the fruit can speak clearly.
Inspired by the wines of earlier generations, Mas Gomà revives old local varieties and traditional flavours. Its artisanal production links the cultural heritage of Penedès with a sustainable outlook for the future.
