La Distesa is a rural community in Cupramontana, in the inland Marche, an area with a long winegrowing history. Spread across two farms, it approaches agriculture as a living ecosystem shaped by both wild nature and human work.
Natural wine production is its main activity, alongside olives, arable crops, forage and woodland. The entire farm is certified organic by CCPB, within a wider agroecological vision of regenerative agriculture and society.
Woodland, hedges, trees, grassland and crops coexist with the vines. Vineyard work follows the plants’ natural rhythms, relying on observation and minimal intervention rather than forcing growth.
In the cellar, winemaking is both a creative act and a process of listening. Fermentation is spontaneous, the wines are neither fined nor filtered, and intervention is kept to the essentials so that each wine can express its place, vintage and maker.
The family also welcomes guests at its agriturismo in Esinante and participates in networks promoting organic farming, rural culture and an ecological approach to the economy. Work with solidarity purchasing groups and the Spore – Scuola di campagna education project supports short supply chains in which consumers take an active part.
For La Distesa, winegrowing is an ongoing search for balance, grounded in sensitivity, experimentation and daily observation of nature.
