Jazzile is a Puglian dialect word for the open space in front of trulli, farmhouses and country homes: a rural square used for work and gathering.

Jazzile is a social enterprise cooperative supporting winegrowers in training, production, promotion and sales through an exchange of practices, knowledge and enjoyment. Its ambition is a community cellar based on agroecology and natural, artisanal winemaking, where people share space and skills while respecting different individuals, farms and places.

The cooperative and its members contribute resources and expertise in response to one another’s needs and those of the wider community. Together they organise and take part in events for local, national and international audiences, including private visitors and hospitality professionals. Sales channels are developed to celebrate each grower’s identity without competition, exploring mutual support and shared ways of creating and distributing value around wine.

The network spans the provinces of Bari, Brindisi and Taranto. The original profile introduces the following projects:

Infestante is an organic farm founded in 2019 at a masseria in Noci, bringing together social farming, local development and cultural activities. In 2023 it began restoring approximately one hectare of vines near Putignano and made its first wine, hoping it would be the beginning of many more.

Piccoli Piccoli brings together Piergiorgio and Ylenia, whose skills support an ecocentric approach to winegrowing. Their work combines tradition, research into new practices, love of nature and sociocultural experiences that celebrate the area.

At Podere ai Contadini, Sabrina and Walter practise sustainable farming on a small family plot in Ostuni. Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grow alongside Impigno, Ottavianello and Francavidda. They also make olive oil and other farm products, with a commitment to local identity and the recovery of forgotten knowledge.

5 e 30 Vini da Coltivare inspired Jazzile itself. Its small, old bush-vine vineyard in Gioia del Colle represents a heritage worth protecting and regenerating. Emanuela and Giovanni learn through practical work, seeking to bottle the spirit of a place. It is a long journey, but an early alarm helps!

XFarm Agricoltura prossima works to regenerate fifty hectares of land confiscated from organised crime in San Vito dei Normanni, both ecologically and socially. In 2023, working with Masseria La Cattiva, it moved beyond selling Lambrusco for blending to making Brushko, recognising that value comes from care throughout production.
