Diana Iannaccone and Mario Basco created I Cacciagalli in northern Caserta, at the foot of Roccamonfina. Diana is an agronomist committed to gentle farming; Mario’s passion for wine includes the people and places it can reveal.
Their project is also a shared way of life, based on a masseria owned by Diana’s family for generations. Growing vines, hazelnuts, chestnuts and olives has created a tradition they want to preserve.
Volcanic soils and the contrast between warm, dry days and mild, breezy nights shape the vineyards. Biodynamic practices support their intention to let nature form the wines’ character.
Cellar work is artisanal: indigenous yeasts drive fermentation, sulphur dioxide is minimal, and there are no other chemical additives, fining or filtration.
