Gianni Lonetti is a Calabrian winegrower who has revived his family’s winemaking tradition. His eight-hectare property at Melissa includes just under two hectares of vines, alongside olive groves.
Native Gaglioppo and Magliocco are cultivated following organic practices, with the same approach carried into the cellar. Fermentation is spontaneous and maturation takes place in stainless steel, including eleven months on the lees.
A signature wine is Juru Calabria IGT, a blend of 70% Gaglioppo and 30% Magliocco. Notes of black pepper, cherry and violet balance rustic character with elegance.
Production is limited to around 2,000 bottles a year, reflecting Gianni’s commitment to quality and authenticity. His work celebrates Calabria’s wine heritage through wines closely connected to their origins.
