Fosso degli Angeli is a small family farm run by Pasquale, Dina and Marenza in the hills of Casalduni, near Benevento in inland Campania, a place rich in stories of brigands and old folk traditions.
They began experimenting with wine from their own grapes in 2009. After two years refining their approach, the 2011 harvest marked the official start of production. The farm includes around seven hectares of vineyards, ten of olive groves and fifteen of pasture and woodland.
They believe quality begins with care for the vines and respect for the soil. Vineyards lie mainly on clay and limestone at an average elevation of 450 metres. Winter pruning and bunch thinning keep yields to approximately five to seven tonnes per hectare.
Microclimate and biodiversity support the vines’ balance, nourishment and protection. The vineyards and olive groves have always followed organic practices; the certification process was initiated in 2012.
Restrained cellar methods and indigenous yeasts preserve the wines’ character and identity.
Fosso degli Angeli shares the vision of Evoluzione Naturale. Come and discover their stories and wines.
