Filanda de Boron is a tiny winery in Trentino’s Adamello Brenta park. In 2008, after years as a business consultant, Nicola Del Monte felt drawn back to the land. He studied grape varieties able to tolerate cold and resist fungal disease, planting his first 3,000 square metres of Solaris on family land at Tione.
The original profile describes Tione as a place without a winegrowing tradition because of its cold climate, and reports interest from a Freiburg research institution in studying the project. After the initial research years, Nicola opened a small cellar to make natural wines.
In 2017 his wife, a structural engineer with a passion for cooking, joined the project. They restored an eighteenth-century family silk mill and opened an agriturismo.
Connecting their families’ origins, they also revived olive groves in Marsala and Verona, producing the oils Nord and SUD.
