Michela Rossi and Viviana Tomassetti founded Dumatt in 2022 in Pitigliano, Tuscany. Its 3.2 hectares of vineyards grow on volcanic ground with a layer of clay and outcrops of tuff. Farming is organic, with biodynamic cultivation planned for new plots. Minimal intervention, spontaneous fermentation and limited sulphite use only when needed allow the local grapes and terroir to speak for themselves.
Dumatt champions varieties including Sangiovese, Vermentino, Trebbiano and Procanico. Its natural reds, whites and rosés include Karmine, made from Sangiovese; Linsicuro, from Procanico; and Pink Is The New Red, a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot. Without a cellar of their own, Michela and Viviana work in local facilities, overseeing every stage to preserve the quality and integrity of their wines.
Their project explores the potential of Tuscany’s terroirs through sustainable farming and thoughtful experimentation.
