“We are Lorenzo and Elisa of Don Carlo – Vini & Tartufi. After studying organic agriculture, Lorenzo brought his family’s land in inland Abruzzo back into cultivation after decades of abandonment. Elisa, who graduated in Media, Arts and Cultures, chose to combine her skills with her passion for winegrowing.
We make natural wines exclusively from Trebbiano and Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. We grow our grapes organically and harvest them by hand into crates, keeping them intact on their journey to our small urban cellar. Don Carlo wines contain no added sulphites or other added substances—just passion, care and dedication.
Joining us in the vineyard, and especially in the woods, is Onda, who looks after cuddles and truffles. Ours are truffles found by happy dogs: we search for them together as a game, never through fear.”
