Domaine Clo is based in Vaudelnay, in the Loire’s Anjou-Saumur area. Since 2015, Cyril Leau, the family’s third generation, has pursued sustainable farming and a pared-back approach to winemaking.
The estate has twenty-five hectares of certified organic vineyards across Anjou Blanc, Anjou Noir and the Brossay plateau. Chalk, schist, clay and flint soils, together with oceanic and continental influences, provide varied conditions for Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Gamay. The resulting wines express Anjou-Saumur with vibrant freshness and distinctive mineral character.
Protecting biodiversity is fundamental. Cyril encourages trees and shrubs around the vines and founded Le Verre de Terre, an association dedicated to the agricultural landscape and local ecosystem.
The range includes whites, reds, rosés and sparkling wines, made in keeping with natural rhythms. Some mature in old oak barrels in the underground cellar. Each offers an expression of the Loire’s elegance, vitality and sense of place.
Domaine Clo and Callmewine, which presents the estate in Italy, share the vision of Evoluzione Naturale, bringing together history, place and a contemporary outlook.
