The Ionian coast has been a natural home for vine growing since the days of Magna Graecia. Here, Antonio of De Quarto and his family continue to work the land, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.
Antonio oversees the winemaking with particular care, using only estate-grown grapes from 20 hectares of vineyards.
High planting densities, traditional Puglian bush-trained vines on red limestone soils, abundant sunshine and very low yields all contribute to the quality of the wines. The family chooses the harvest date carefully, picks every bunch by hand and carries the same attention into the cellar.
A strong sense of identity, together with love and respect for the land and nature, led the De Quarto family to abandon chemical inputs long ago, choosing instead to make natural, spontaneous wines.
