Costadilà takes its name from a hamlet of Tarzo, where Ernesto Cattel began farming and making wine in 2005. Now based at San Lorenzo on the hills of Vittorio Veneto, the estate remains closely associated with his vision and his belief in local Glera, Bianchetta Trevigiana and Verdiso.
His idea of transparency is reflected in clear bottles that reveal indigenous-yeast sediment and cloudy amber colours, varying from bottle to bottle. It also recalls the traditional self-contained farm, combining vines with fruit, vegetables and livestock.
Minimal intervention and a natural approach shaped that vision. Alex Della Vecchia and Martina Celi now carry it forward while managing the estate.
Plans described in the original profile build on existing cattle farming with the introduction of sheep, goats and pigs, including free-ranging animals, to further restore the diversified farm model.
