Cirò is one of Calabria’s emblematic wines. Its reds are based primarily on Gaglioppo, a local grape grown along the Ionian coast north of Crotone. Their character evokes a Mediterranean landscape of coastal breezes and aromatic scrub, combining structure with elegance.
Cirò Revolution brings together small artisanal winegrowers committed to preserving the traditions and identity of this historic wine. They seek to give a clear voice to grape and place through restrained work in the vineyard and cellar and environmentally considerate farming.
At the heart of the movement is the relationship between people, soil and vines. Tastings and events have introduced these wines to a wider audience, drawing attention to Calabria’s distinctive wine culture and the work of its independent growers.
Cirò Revolution shares the values of Evoluzione Naturale. The event selection described in the original profile lists L’Arciglione di Cataldo Calabretta, Fratelli Cerminara, Vigneti Vumbaca and Gianni Lonetti.
Together, these growers offer different perspectives on a wine deeply connected to the landscape and people of Calabria.
