Castello di Stefanago is the result of generations of work, shaped by people, dedication and respect for the land, nature and landscape, with a continuing search for improvement within tradition.
The estate lies at 350–500 metres in Lombardy’s Oltrepò Pavese hills. An eleventh- to fourteenth-century castle houses the winemaking and maturation cellars at the centre of 135 hectares of meadows, woodland, orchards and fields.
Twenty hectares of vineyards occupy small plots chosen for their soils and exposure, preserving the variety of habitats. Antonio and Giacomo Baruffaldi have long followed organic practices and tend the vineyards themselves, seeking healthy grapes picked at the right maturity—the essential foundation of their wines.
