Cantina Pulaio is a small farm in Allerona Scalo, Umbria, in the heart of the Paglia valley. Founder Daniele Fuso continues a family tradition stretching back to his sharecropping grandparents, combining those roots with a fresh approach to natural wine.
The project began by restoring a small family vineyard. Inspired by his grandfather’s methods, Daniele made his first skin-contact white without added sulphites, then gradually expanded. He now farms approximately 5.5 hectares of old vines across eighteen plots, many rescued from abandonment. Work from pruning to harvest is manual, without heavy machinery or intensive treatments.
There are no fertilisers or herbicides. Targeted treatments use copper, sulphur and natural preparations such as nettle and horsetail; some plots are left entirely without intervention.
The cellar philosophy is equally clear: wine comes from grapes alone, without added sulphites or other substances. Attention to detail and respect for the surroundings result in wines that express the Umbrian landscape and the dedication of their grower.
Cantina Pulaio shares the vision of Evoluzione Naturale. Come and discover Daniele’s stories and wines.
