The Romano family has deep roots in Pescara’s fishing community. Simone’s father was a fishing-boat captain; the boat later gave its name to the family’s seafood restaurant. Working in the restaurant sparked Simone’s passion for wine and eventually led him to make it.
That history inspired Candeloro’s first wine, Parò, the local word for a fishing captain. After searching for a place to grow grapes, the family chose Vittorito, whose long winegrowing tradition is closely associated with Montepulciano’s Peligno biotype.
The wine comes from an organic vineyard with limited treatments. Fermentation is spontaneous, without temperature control, stabilisation, fining or filtration.
