Bertolino grew from two brothers’ love of western Sicily, particularly the Marsala area and its winegrowing heritage. Concern about the decline of cultivation and abandonment of fields inspired a commitment to protecting and renewing the landscape.
Their response is low-impact wine production, with many vineyard tasks carried out by hand rather than machinery. Organic and biodynamic principles guide farming and winemaking, without selected yeasts.
