Barracco’s history reaches back to the early nineteenth century, when the estate made wine, especially Garibaldi-style Marsala. Winemaking stopped in the early twentieth century, and grapes were subsequently supplied to cooperatives.
Roberto Bruno, son of Francesca Barracco, left an established business-law career in Milan to return to the family vineyards and revive that tradition. His encounter with natural wine in 2016 inspired the first plans for a Barracco label.
A collaboration with agronomist Ennio Gugliotta began the following year, shaping the natural-wine project. Vineyard work, from pruning through harvest, is carried out by hand.
