Founded in 2021 near Pitigliano in Tuscany’s Maremma, Bagnolungo grew from its founders’ experience in wine and hospitality around the world. They chose this place for a farming project centred on respect for nature.
The estate sits on a rise at 235 metres, shaped by small streams. Loose tuff and pyroclastic soils recall the volcanic history around nearby Lakes Bolsena and Mezzano. Between Monte Argentario and Monte Amiata, Mediterranean conditions and steady winds support the vines.
La Nova, planted in 2007, grows mainly Aleatico alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo. Roiana, planted in 1969 and partly ungrafted, includes Procanico, Malvasia, Chardonnay and Sangiovese.
Organic principles guide cultivation. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, sulphur dioxide is minimal and natural settling replaces filtration. Some wines appear only in selected vintages; others change each year. Labels made by friends and family add a personal artistic touch.
Bagnolungo shares the vision of Evoluzione Naturale. Come and discover their stories and wines.
