Brother and sister Andrea and Pilar represent a new generation of the Gritti family. After study and experience abroad, they joined their parents’ estate and developed their own project from selected vineyards of I Girasoli di Sant’Andrea.
They moved away from the original conventional approach towards farming centred on soil care and healthy fruit, with artisanal wines that respect their origins. Both are directly involved in the vineyards, cellar and business.
The estate lies in Upper Umbria beside the Niccone river, in a landscape with a strong identity. Parcels fall into three main groups according to age and position, with the oldest planted in 1998 and elevations ranging from 250 to 400 metres.
“We think of wine as alive, authentic and spontaneous, able to tell the story of its grapes and land. We prefer a little artisanal unpredictability to perfect packaging. We love refreshing wines for snacks, meals with friends and long conversations—wines that bring a smile and show honestly who they are.”
