Alepa is Paola Riccio’s artisanal winery in the hills of Caiazzo, a few kilometres from Caserta in Campania. The project began when a country residence became a winery in 1986, with the first labels produced from 1993. Close to the Royal Palace of Caserta, the estate lies in a historic winegrowing landscape rich in biodiversity.

Approximately three hectares of vines grow on clay soils at 250 metres. Vineyard management supports the plants’ natural balance with minimal intervention. In the cellar, the quality of the grapes and the natural pace of maturation guide the work, producing expressive, aromatic wines connected with local history and traditions.

A central aim is to champion Campania’s native Pallagrello Bianco and Pallagrello Nero. Associated with the Vigna del Ventaglio at the Royal Palace of Caserta and known as the ‘grape of kings’, Pallagrello has been rediscovered through the work of custodians such as Alepa. Its white and red forms give wines of elegance and personality, embodying an important part of the local wine heritage.

Paola continues this tradition with dedication, expressing Campania through wines with a strong identity.
